Why Recall?

    1. Schultz supports changing Dallas housing policy to reduce minimum lot sizes with 3 & 4-plex by-right zoning and ADU by right in ALL neighborhoods, with zero neighbor input. She signed a memo on November 8 to explore these options, but did not attend the meeting:

“Dallas City Council member Jesse Moreno, who chairs the committee, called the special meeting to fulfill a request by council member Chad West in a Nov. 8 memo signed by four others on the council.

“Those signees — Chad West, Jaime Resendez, Jaynie Shultz and Paula Blackmon — were absent from the discussion.”

2.-Her desire for increased density by re-developing properties in District 11’s predominately single family neighborhoods is harmful to neighborhoods and will dramatically increase traffic and traffic fatalities (link)

3.-She supports ending parking minimums which will cause parked cars to spill over into peaceful family neighborhoods (https://www.dallasobserver.com/news/dallas-city-council-member-is-over-the-citys-parking-requirements-17267307) (Looking for CC vote)

4.-She has failed to help resolve the homeless issue in District 11. She has advised constituents frustrated with homeless in their front yards to create & allow homeless camping on their private properties (see text message)

Others:

-She wants to increase low-income housing across District 11, particularly in her “International District” (link)(CC vote)

-She is oblivious to our District’s increase in crime, particularly at shopping centers. (Link)

-She advocates for higher property taxes when she campaigned for the opposite (link CC vote)

-She pushes Day-Care by right (CC vote)

-She advocates for ending alley trash collection when most Dallas neighborhoods have been platted for alley sanitation pick-up. Moving all trash collection to the front curb will be a hardship on seniors & the disabled, and result in loose trash in the streets and yards. (Link, CC vote)

-She was charged with an ethics violation relating to a code violation in her District (Link)

-She is directing $500,000 of bond dollars to her International District with no budget nor explanation of how taxpayer dollars will be spent. (Newsletter)

-She was one of 8 City Council Members who orchestrated the resignation of City Manager TC Broadnax so as to guarantee him a $450K severance

-She earned a 2.9 out of 10 score in the Dallas Derby Resident Evaluations of Dallas City Council Members
